Independent TDs claim significant rural victory
The Government defeat in a vote on reform of the Fair Deal Nursing Homes Support Scheme is a significant victory for the farming families and small business owners of rural Ireland, said Cork South-West Independent TD Michael Collins.
He was one of the Rural Independent Group TDs who placed the motion before the Dáil calling for prevention of discrimination against the farming community and small rural business owners, if they have to be admitted to a nursing home.
