Dairy farmers are expected to lead the way in the 2017 agricultural property market, according to the annual Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland/Teagasc Land Market Review and Outlook.

The majority (58%) of chartered surveyors who were surveyed for the report anticipate that the principal type of farmer seeking to buy agricultural land in 2017 will be dairy farmers, and 61% also expect dairy farmers to be the main type of farmers seeking to lease agricultural land.
