Lifeway Kefir smoothie is a fermented probiotic milk drink made with milk from Clona Dairy in Clonakilty, Co Cork.

The US company said access to such high quality ingredients was a key factor in its decision to manufacture their European line in Ireland.

Julie Smolyansky, president and CEO of Lifeway Foods Inc, said: “We are delighted to bring America’s number one Kefir brand to the Irish market and we are also very proud to develop an Irish version of this superfood produced milk from grass-fed local West Cork cows.

“We are planning to launch this Irish made Lifeway Kefir range right across Europe and are very excited to offer health-conscious Irish consumers the first taste.”
