Beef market report: Steers stay at 385 cent/kg as beef intake stabilises

The beef trade is stable and tending towards slightly firmer at the factories this week, with supplies holding reasonably in balance.

Most processors continue to quote 380 cents/kg as a base price for steers, while knowing that they have to pay 385 cents/kg in general to get the stock through the gates.

There are some reports of a few cents/kg more being secured in areas of the country where suppliers are a bit tighter than average.
