Beef market report: Holiday season effect strengthens beef prices

Beef cattle price continuity has been maintained at factories this week, despite a drop in supply for the shorter working week.

The quoted base price for steers stays at 390 cents/kg, with recent threats of price cuts appearing to have moved off the processors’ radar.

Instead, there is a slight easing in their resistance to paying a few cents/kg more, and they seem more anxious to get a few more cattle through the gates.
