The ‘no-change’ face of the beef prices at the factories this week comes as a mixed blessing for producers finishing cattle for the spring trade.
Beef market report: Supply line still up 10% as factory prices stay steady

The scale of intake at the processing plants over the past month has placed prices in the perceived ‘danger zone’ which producers believe is triggered at around 30,000 head per week going through the gates at the factories.

The supply has continued at more than 10% above the benchmark intake at which most observers believe the pendulum hangs in the most favourable balance for the processors as well as the producers.
