€25m of dairy and pig crisis fund to be paid in 2015, says Simon Coveney

Most dairy farmers will get about €1,430 each from EU dairy and pigmeat crisis funds and matching national payments announced by Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney last week.

The Department of Public Expenditure and Reform has cleared national payments to bring the EU funding of €13.7m up to €24.8m.

However, €1.6m extra will go for young dairy and pig farmers, plus €1m million for those involved in the pig sector.
