Bank survey finds beef sector planning on-farm investment

Beef farmers are committed to their sector despite the post-quota allure of dairy, an AIB survey has found.

Some 70% of beef farmers have identified growth opportunities for their farm business over the next three to five years, according to the ‘Outlook’ series of surveys which AIB conducted in association with the IFA.

“Much of the recent focus has been on the dairy sector, the opportunities afforded by the abolition of milk quota and the expansion at farm and processor level,” notes Diarmuid Donnellan, AIB agri advisor.
