Kieran Coughlan: ICOS joins economic dialogue on future of Irish farming

ICOS has been active over the past month or so in calling for measures to relief pressure on Irish dairy farmers.

In mid-July, ICOS participated in Ireland’s inaugural National Economic Dialogue. This forum involved a fresh approach of an open and inclusive exchange to discuss the options available to the Government in framing Budget 2016.

Focusing on the plight of farmers, ICOS the establishment of an income deferral scheme based on the Australian Farm Management Deposits Scheme.
