Harvesting up to late September envisaged

Grain crops are slow to ripen, and farmers predict it will be late September before the main cereal harvest is complete.

However, completion of the winter barley harvest has resulted in an estimated yield average of 3.9t/acre, but varying from 3t to 4.9t.

According to IFA, oil seed rape yields are up on last season, averaging close to 1.9t/acre, and winter oats yields are respectable.
