No milk levy instalment scheme this month

Relief from superlevy bills won’t come with this month’s milk cheque, according to ICOS.

Farmers can look forward to repayments of money collected from them in some cases, or be charged reduced amounts, after the Department of Agriculture completes preparations for the super levy instalment scheme.

This scheme will involve the State incurring a portion of Ireland’s €69m super-levy bill, and farmers paying it off, free of interest, across three seasons.
