The IFA says prices for the week starting April 13 were at 101% of the EU average, and will probably stay near that level, with German processors also paying a 5c increase this week, and prices in France and Denmark also moving positively.

The UK price is still above €1.80/kg. Despite the gap between British farmgate pig prices and the mean EU price staying at about 36c per kg, a survey shows British supermarket buyers have raised their proportion of British bacon versus imported from 44% to 46%.
