Tips for safe tyre handling

Farmers have been advised by Teagasc to review their tyre pumping practices.

Serious accidents, including fatalities, have been caused by unsafe practices during wheel/tyre changing and when inflating tyres.

The UK Health and Safety Executive has advice on extra safety measures needed for inflating larger, well-based (single-piece) commercial vehicle tyres above 15 psi.
