Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney has urged all parties directly involved to come together and seek a resolution to a long-running dispute over grazing rights on Glenahiry Commonage in Clonmel.

He revealed, more land than is contained in the entire commonage has been claimed by applicants, since 2005, for the Single Payment Scheme, the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme and other area-based schemes.

Responding to a Dáil question from Fianna Fáil agriculture spokesman Éamon Ó Cuív, Mr Coveney said all applicants have confirmed their rights to claim certain shares of the Glenahiry commonage.
