Solutions to the roadblocks on the live trade to the North have been presented to Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney.

Eddie Downey, IFA president, said there is an onus on the minister to grasp the opportunity before the autumn store cattle sales.

He said the IFA has been working with processors in the North who want the live trade opened up.
