Blockages of GM grains imports set to hit feed trade

Blockages of genetically modified grain imports are predicted to disrupt the animal feed trade again this autumn.

Since 2009, non-authorisation or delayed EU authorisation for genetically-modified grain and soya bean varieties have disrupted imports.

Due to anti-GM sentiment in the EU, the number of GM varieties awaiting import approval in the EU regulatory framework remains high.
