ICMSA chief: Department decision on compensation makes no sense

The dairy farmer group leader said the move was both ill-advised and illogical in that bovine viral diarrhoea does not discriminate by breed or sex of the animal. He also warned that the new compensation measures for the removal of bovine viral diarrhoea persistently infected animals show a lack of awareness that some farmers are retaining these animals even against best practice and advice.
