Winter cereals crop promising

Winter cereals are promising, according to this week’s Teagasc crops bulletin.

Advisers said wheat and oats were at flag leaf to head emerging stages, and winter barley was well into flowering, despite very high disease pressure on winter crops due to wet weather.

In wheat, the yield forming leaves were quite clean; in barley, the plant populations ranged from good to high.
