The prospect of increased Irish dairy product exports to China was boosted yesterday with the news that processing plants here have fully meet the standards of Beijing’s new food safety laws.

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney welcomed the publication of an audit of Ireland’s dairy sector by the Chinese authorities.

“It is an excellent result that Ireland has achieved 100% compliance with the Chinese requirements, and every company that applied for access has been accepted,” he said.
