In a setback for remaining pockets of resistance to the wholesale changes proposed in 2015, scope for adjustments in the CAP reform receded further, when the European Council and the European Parliament approved the first package of delegated acts for the new policy.

August 1 next is the earliest notification date for Irish authorities to inform the European Commission of national decisions in relation to the Pillar 1 farmer payments section of the Common Agricultural Policy reform.
