Creep feeding around weaning time reduces stress on calves

Spring-born suckler calves will be weaned on many farms over the coming weeks and months.

The suckler welfare scheme had some excellent elements to it, such as the compulsory feeding of a creep feed to calves before and after weaning.

Even though the scheme as we knew it has gone, it is still good practice to creep feed around weaning time.
