Two youngsters win dairy breeding heifers

Two Co Cork youngsters each won a dairy breeding heifer at Tullamore Show.

In the heifer and hogget competition run by the Irish Farmers Journal for the 10-18 age group, contestants had to answer a three-question farming knowledge test. Sean O’Meara, aged 12 from Belgooly, was the lucky winner of the Holstein Friesian heifer, and 15-year-old Martin Beausang from Midleton won a Montbeliarde heifer.
