Early winter barley is yielding 8.5-10t/ha at 15%-20% moisture, with specific weights of 68-72 kg/hl, according to Teagasc. Reduced ear disease will benefit grain quality and seed stocks.

* Fodder beet has rebounded, except in very light ground where it is coming under moisture stress.

* Maize growth has been very good, most crops appear to have good potential. Plastic crops are tasselling/silking, while open crops are waist/shoulder high.
