Stable trade maintained for cattle at factories

A stable trade for cattle at factories has been maintained this week, despite a continuing rise in the supply offered to the processors.

Prices have hardened slightly at the lower end of the range for steers, while prices for heifers remained largely unchanged in this week’s official quotes from processors.

They offer a base price for steers from 410 to 415 cent/kg (146p-148p/lb), with most of the livestock being purchased within that band, but some farmers negotiating deals in the 418-420 cent range, for quality steers.
