Budget 2013 must allow funding for farm restructuring and consolidation, funding for vital farm schemes, family farm taxation, property taxes and energy costs, the ICMSA has told the Government.

The ICMSA outlined these five critical areas for funding in a meeting with Finance Minister Michael Noonan and Minister for Public Expenditure Brendan Howlin.

In relation to farm restructuring and consolidation, Mr Comer said taxation does not represent a barrier to sensible restructuring of farms.
