Fertiliser extra time granted

Two-week extensions for spreading fertiliser have been granted by the Government, because of a fodder shortage for livestock.

“In particular these extensions will assist farmers in extending grazing into the winter season,” said Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney. “I am acutely aware of the difficulties the adverse weather conditions have had on farms this summer, and I am confident that the granting of these extensions will alleviate pressures on farmers to some extent”.

The extensions apply to all farmers in all schemes.
