Farming generals must fight for prices

An interest in things historical has seen me acquire a collection of books that examine famous battles and the admirals or generals who fought them.

I mention this because I’ve long held the view that the men at the head of our national farm organisations are the equivalent of farming generals.

Among their many responsibilities is the need to protect the interests of their members in the face of the drive for more profit in big business.
