Teagasc has issued general advice to livestock farmers coping with delayed silage-harvesting, poor grass growth, and challenging grazing conditions.

Where grass is in short supply, or where grazing conditions are difficult, the following options should be considered, to help maintain livestock performance and allow for fast recovery of grass when the weather changes.

* Graze and offer meals/silage to dairy cows.
