Beef prices edge upwards as market demand increases

Prime beef prices at factories are continuing to edge upwards slowly, as tightening supply increases pressure on processors to get sufficient stock to satisfy market demand.

But there is slippage in prices to suppliers of cow beef, as the manufacturing sector comes under market pressure.

For the prime stock, the supply situation is helping farmers, but processors are keeping a tight rein on any price increase being conceded.
