Water trough repair

How expert dairy farmers repair leaking water troughs has been explained at the greenfield dairy programme farm in Co Kilkenny.

To fix a small hairline crack in one of the water troughs, they cut a track of 8mm wide and 8mm deep, apply a product called Primer 3N for porous surfaces, and smooth it off, before 11FC polyurethane sealant/adhesive in a mastic gun is applied on top. The water trough is emptied before the process and left empty for 24 hours after.
