Culling up as EU suckler farmers act on prices

Suckler farmers across the EU took advantage of strong cull cow prices to increase culling by more than 3% in 2011.

Any further decline in the EU cow herd will impact on medium-term beef output across Europe, according to Bord Bia sources.

Cow disposals increased by almost 9% in the UK, Spain, France and Poland.
