There is a continuation of the “as you were” beef price policy at factories for this week, as processors stand firm against farmer pressure.

Quoted prices for beef remain unchanged, and the processors are also continuing to limit any price top-up being negotiated to not more than a couple of cent/kg — although factory intakes remain 5,000 to 7,000 head per week lower than 2011.

This pattern continued with last week’s kill of an estimated 24,560 head.
