Bidders displaying confidence in farming sector
Land prices are not climbing to the extent that property prices did in the past. The conditions of the market today are entirely different for a start. Furthermore, with the speculators gone from the market, there is no more wild gambling on the short-term outcome of prices or even on the long term.
“The hobby farmer and the speculator are well and truly gone,” says one experienced Cork-based selling agent. This leaves the field, so to speak, completely open to the ones that know the market best – the farmers.
