Get prior notification before allowing septic tank check

Do not allow any person enter your property to examine the septic tank unless you have received prior notification in writing from the local authority that your system is to be inspected.

That was one of the directions from Environment Minister Phil Hogan when he recently published the performance standards for domestic waste water treatment.

Interested parties can make submissions to his Department until Friday, Mar 30, in reaction to the standards.
