Feed at least 3kg until grass

Most of the advice on feeding cows in March is based on the availability of plenty top quality spring grass.

This is misleading because surveys have shown that on most farms, early grass is scarce or of less than top quality, very often due to inadequate reseeding.

Cows must be fed properly, and in the majority of cases, they will require at least 3kg of concentrates until a reasonable amount of grass becomes available.
