Plan fertiliser requirements now and cut costs

FERTILISER prices are €30 to €80 per tonne higher compared to this time last year, so it makes more sense than ever to soil sample and plan fertiliser requirements, on tillage farms.

Correct soil P, K, lime and trace element levels are vital ingredients in the production of high yielding crops.

Now is a good time to take soil samples and establish soil fertility levels (request an S4 soil test from Teagasc advisers). Select most suitable fertilisers based on results and crop yield potential.
