In Ireland this week, according to IFA, the big export plants mostly still quote 148 to 154 cent/kg, plus a 2-6 cent welfare bonus. Pork slaughterers quote from 150 to 156 cent/kg. Sows stay at 80 to 100c/kg deadweight.

Factory pig throughput in Republic of Ireland export plants for the week ending December 31 was 32,164, 3,437 head more than in the corresponding week in 2010. Pig slaughterings ended the year 9.5% ahead of 2010, and sows 7.6% ahead.
