‘Tougher approach’ to payments in arrears

AGRICULTURAL contractors believe that improved prospects in farming have encouraged finance companies to take a tougher approach to arrears in payments for machinery.

Contractors say that machines are being repossessed even where payment arrears are relatively low, because finance companies can easily sell them on, in the buoyant market.
