Top crop options for winter

THE increase in winter barley acreage and favourable forward prices make winter oilseed rape look attractive this year.

At present, high-yielding rape crops will leave a similar margin to winter wheat crops. It is also important to look at rape as an entry point for first wheats (generally the highest yielding and most profitable crops).

Ask yourself: would I get 10t/ha plus of wheat without a break crop?
