Poultry Welfare Schemere-opens for applications

Agriculture Minister Simon Coveney said applications totalling about €11.2 million had already been received from farmers up to June 8, 2011, when all targeted agricultural modernisation schemes were suspended. As a sum of €16m had been provided for the scheme in Ireland’s rural development programme, €4.8m will be available for this final tranche of applications. If applications received exceed this amount, selection criteria set out in the scheme will be applied.
