VRT for certain vehicles, including tractors, will increase from €50 to 200 next Sunday, May 1.

All vehicles brought into Ireland are subject to Vehicle Registration Tax (VRT), and must be registered before they can be licensed for road tax purposes.

From the end of June, 2011, tractors, like all other mechanically propelled vehicles, will be obliged to undergo a pre-registration inspection before they are registered for use in the state.
