Mastitis estimated to cost €30m each year

THE cost of mastitis is estimated to be about €30 million per annum.

At any one time, it is estimated that one cow in four is affected by sub-clinical mastitis (high somatic cell count).

Proper use of a good quality licensed teat dip is a priority, while ensuring the milking machine is in perfect working order.
