FARMERS this week accused pig processors of failing to return a wholesale level price increase to farmers — who are haemorrhaging money, according to IFA.

IFA said the primary producer is being used to line the processors’ pockets, and it was vital for the industry, and for millers and bankers funding the industry, to see a farm gate price increase.

Irish pig prices for the week ending December 12 remained at 94% of the EU average.
