EU cattle prices to rise

Beef production in the EU region is forecast to fall by 2%, mainly in France, Germany and Britain. Spanish output is expected to increase 3%, while Polish production is forecast to grow by more than 2% (since 2007, Polish output has increased 17%).

German exports to international markets are forecast to double to 38,000 tonnes, Spain and Italy are also expected to ship more beef out of Europe, with a stronger trade driven largely by demand from Turkey and Russia.
