Dairy Equipment Scheme on the way

NO date has yet been fixed for the introduction of the Dairy Equipment Scheme, which will provide 40% grant-aid for milking machine and cooling equipment, and milk storage.

However, EU Commission approval was received earlier this year for the scheme, and for four other targeted modernisation schemes focused on supporting productive investment in the agricultural sector.

Due to the relatively short time-frames for completing investment works concerned, priority was given to introducing the sow welfare, poultry welfare, and sheep fencing/handling schemes, according to Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith.
