Scope to gain from delayed grain sale

IRISH grain growers are being advised to sell some of their grain now, but to avail of better September and October prices on offer for up to one third of their tonnage.

Forward selling and bed and breakfast options offered by grain buyers allow growers sale flexibility, even if they do not their own grain storage facilities.

But extra interest incurred on merchant bills and credit facilities must be factored into delayed selling.
