Pig price 96% of EU average

IT’S a quiet week in the major EU pig producing member states, other than Holland, where the pig price was cut 1c/kg.

Pig price 96% of EU average

That left the Dutch price, at €1.50 per kg, still considerably stronger than the Irish price, which was weakened by price cuts last Friday, of 4c/kg at two processors and for pigs going to Northern Ireland, according to IFA.

For pigs sold in the week ending November 23, the Irish average price of €1.41 was only 96% of the EU average, according to IFA.
