However, when it is the country’s biggest crop, and growers have been looking at it for decades, mistakes are less understandable.

The crop is timber, and it looks like growers are going to lose up to 30 or 40% of its value unless they start looking after it. To achieve its full potential, a crop of trees must be thinned at 18 years, and every five years after.
