The transition of Glanbia Edenderry slaughterings to Roscrea was not causing serious disruption, but farmers remained concerned about how viable it would be long term.

The price range at export plants was 136 to 143 c/kg. The welfare bonus ranged from 2 to 6 cent. The pork slaughtering price range is still 138 to 145 cent. Other IFA market estimates are 32 kg weaners at €48 to 52, sow prices staying at €20 to 26 per cwt liveweight. Average pig prices for the week ending August 11 were 129c in Ireland, 147c in the EU-25.
