IFA says some smaller pigmeat processors followed the lead of the main processors this week and dropped their pig prices by 2c/kg.

But the range of prices at export plants stayed at 128 to 136 cent per kg. The welfare bonus ranges from 2 to 6 cent.

The pork slaughtering price range is still 132 to 138 cent. Other IFA market estimates are also unchanged, 32 kg weaners at €52 to 56, sow prices back at €20 to 26 per cwt liveweight. Sow throughput is down almost 8% from last year’s year to date figure.
